Make a placement plan
Measure the display area and keep access to doors, controls and walking routes in mind. A skull shown on a large shelf may be too deep for your own surface. Use a paper footprint to compare dimensions without treating it as a test of mounting or stability.
Build a reusable display
- Choose one visual focal point.
- Reuse suitable paper elements and existing containers.
- Follow the instructions for any light source.
- Label and store parts so that they can be checked next season.
- Confirm current delivery if buying for a specific date.
Keep cultural labels accurate
Halloween and Día de Muertos have different histories and purposes. If you include a Catrina or sugar-skull reference, identify the context rather than calling every colorful skull a Halloween tradition. Our cultural guides provide sources for those distinctions.
Sources and method
Decalavera’s editorial criteria and examples use AI assistance and documentary checking. References support their specific cultural or technical context; they do not certify products or represent physical tests. Sources from other jurisdictions are not presented as US product certification.
