Simplify the drawing

Choose a broad outline, two eye shapes, a nose and a teeth band. Decide where the design should stop before drawing small details. This is a composition exercise, not instruction to place an unsuitable product near the eyes or mouth.

Check the actual cosmetics

  • Intended application area and any restrictions.
  • Manufacturer’s use and removal instructions.
  • Ingredients and warnings relevant to the user.
  • Product condition and labeling.
  • Whether the activity is suitable for the participant’s age.

Know this guide’s limits

The FDA cosmetic reference provides US public information, while the cultural reference discusses imagery. Neither certifies a product shown here. This page does not diagnose reactions or provide a cosmetic safety test. Do not use a product outside its documented purpose to complete a visual effect.
