Measure a shirt that works
Lay a familiar shirt flat without stretching it. Record the chest width and body length at the points specified by the new model’s chart. If the chart measures the body instead, do not compare that number directly with a flat garment measurement. Convert inches and centimeters consistently: one inch is 2.54 cm.
Read the care symbols
The number in a wash symbol refers to a maximum washing temperature in the symbol system, not a promise that every print survives all settings below it. Check drying, bleaching and ironing instructions too. A decorative application may have different restrictions from the fabric.
Compare before buying
- Exact cut and variant.
- Flat versus body measurements.
- Fabric percentages and stretch information.
- Position and dimensions of the graphic.
- Manufacturer’s cleaning instructions.
- Return conditions for a fit that does not work.
