Measure the opening
Compare the inner opening, useful depth and bottom dimensions with your existing growing pot. The widest part of a skull’s exterior may not describe the opening. Allow enough access to remove the inner container for care without forcing it against a narrow rim.
Check how water leaves
- Does the exact variant have drainage holes?
- Is it described as a planter or a decorative cover?
- Where will excess water collect?
- Can you reach and inspect the inside?
- Is its material intended for the planned location?
Choose for the plant you have
The RHS container-growing reference explains why drainage and container selection matter. It does not evaluate a product on this site. Consider your plant’s care needs and current root container separately from the skull design; we do not recommend a species from the container’s appearance.
Sources and method
Decalavera’s editorial criteria and examples use AI assistance and documentary checking. References support their specific cultural or technical context; they do not certify products or represent physical tests. Sources from other jurisdictions are not presented as US product certification.
